WHERE I WANT TO BE: WHY CALIFORNIA STILL FEELS LIKE HOME

California has never been just a backdrop in Jeffery’s life. It has represented possibility—the climate, the movement, the people, the creativity, and the sense that life can keep opening in unexpected directions.

“Where I Want to Be”

The clearest expression appears in Jeffery’s May 14, 2025 conversation, Living the Dream: Steps Through Life and Truth. While arriving in Los Angeles, Jeffery said California was “where I want to be—really, really where I want to be.” That statement carries more than geographic meaning. It reflects a life Jeffery built intentionally and a place connected to the person he was becoming.

The everyday California feeling

In the February 24, 2025 episode, Youngstown and Life in California, Jeffery compared California with Youngstown, Ohio, and recognized what each place had given him. He talked about waking up to warm, sunny Southern California weather and the everyday beauty that makes the cost of living feel worthwhile. He also described California as a place where people express themselves openly—through clothing, movement, creativity, and personal statements.

This episode is the strongest headliner for the story because Jeffery spoke plainly about loving Hollywood, loving California, and feeling a deep reverence for the place. At the same time, he did not dismiss Youngstown. His California experience means more because it exists alongside his history, his family, and the places that formed him.

Venice Beach and a life that works

In the June 6, 2023 conversation, The Power in Subjective Reality, Jeffery was walking in Venice Beach and reflecting on how much of his life had come together. He mentioned being in California, having a good job, having food at home, and feeling that the system he was living in worked for him. Later, he described living in California while also naming the other passions that make his life meaningful.

That moment at Venice Beach captures something important: Jeffery’s appreciation of California is not only about sunshine or scenery. It is about being able to walk, think, work, create, and feel present in his own life.

California as part of Jeffery’s story

Across these conversations, Jeffery’s reflections point to a consistent theme. California represents freedom, momentum, self-expression, and the reward of having followed a long path toward a life that feels authentic. It is not a perfect place, and Jeffery does not suggest that every problem disappears there. But California has given him a setting in which his ambitions, habits, friendships, music, work, and private reflections can coexist.

When Jeffery describes California as where he wants to be, he is talking about more than Los Angeles or Hollywood. He is talking about the version of himself he recognizes there—the person still walking, still thinking, still making things, and still curious about what comes next.
